so ive been having problems with my analog...so i figure ill try to download some cfw...found joysens then after i got everything right i found out i need some other cfw...so i go and find 4.01 m33..got everything installed hit x and i get that error "message the game could not be started(80020148)"..ok so i do a lil more research and i see this pandora battery stuff...i have 1Gb memory stick...32mb memory stick and 1 battery..im pretty cpu literate so i know how to navigate and find things faily quickly but can anyone give me some help on downgrading to a lower version of firmware..is it possible to do without the pandora battery and all that..any help would be greatly appreciated..

what firmware are you on now?

if it is above 3.50 then there is no way to DG without pandora

you can downgrade w/o the pandora but its only on certain cfw...
now about your error message, have you put the joysens in the game150 folder in your psp? if yes and it still deosnt run its because you havnt installed the 1.50 kernel addon for cfw 4.01m33 yet...without it,homebrew cant run =( I myself had upgraded to 4.01m33 but i couldnt fine the kernel addon anywhere.I mean i would but when i would download it all i would get is a readme.txt file. i eventually got tired of looking so this is what i did:
1)downgraded to 1.50 using pandora battery + magic memory stick
2)Upgraded to 3.52m33, then to 3.52m33-4
3)upgraded to 3.90m33, then to 3.90m33-2
4)Installed the 1.50 kernel addon version 2 for 3.90m33 cfw.

alright lemme clear a few things up so you guys can help me...first off i have the fat psp...alright when i look at the icon that says psp update ver it says 3.40 now when i hit X it says the system version is 4.01.there is no need to update.i did a network update about a month ago wifi...
now im new to modding so i figured i could just go in and install the latest version of cfw which is 4.01 m33..now i know joysens wont work without the correct cfw installed but i tried to install joysens first...wouldnt it be possible to just format my memory stick....mind you before this i had no cfw installed i just jumped st8 to 4.01...and will 4.o1 m33 only work if i add the kernal add on

hmm wouldnt it be possible to switch the update folder with one from another memory stick...and start over that way

you are on ofw 4.01 so your ONLY option is pandora (unless you get a modchip of course)

ok so i took the update folder out and all my important stuff..reformatted the memory stick and im back to ground zero...alright since im on Ofw 4.01 what cfw should i start/stop at..3.5 to 3.9

i would recommend 4.01m33-2 (the very latest), but you need a pandora battery and memstick to progress

you have options:
1. hard mod the battery to put it in service mode
2. get someone with cfw to create a battery for you
3. buy a datel tool battery
then you need to create the memstick
