I am using the latest version (as part of XCopy Platinum) and cannot find any way to select the audio information to keep. Where are these options?

Also what default would it use on the DVDs I have already burned? I certainly hope it did not simply keep stereo sound and drop everything else.

itsme213,

When you use XCopy and select "Entire Disk" you will have the same selections that were available on the original.

ScubaPete,

Doesn't "Entire Disk" mean that a DVD with more than 4.7G will be split across 2 DVD-R ?

Is there any way to keep surround sound information (DTS or Dolby) while still compressing down to a single DVD-R ?

Thanks!

Most people don't have the digital equipment to handle DTS. All you want is the Dolby, if you have the equipment to play that.

If you are using the "Classic" DVD XCopy you are correct but if you use "XPress", you can do the entire disk and have all your audio options.

I've never heard of *anyone who could tell the difference between the original and a copy done by "Xpress" with the naked eye.
I have heard people claim to tell the difference but when they are in my home, they can't tell when given 3 different DVD's to choose from :-) (I have made about $50.00 so far in bets :-))
