I bought a new DVD drive for my 360 and need to put my old key on it. Unfortunately, I don't have the original disk that I first flashed my drive with. I do however, have my original key.
I got the firware maker tool to combine my ORIG.bin and the new firmware together. When I try to load the new bin in IPrep, I get a message stating "No Valid Firmware Loaded". I'm using Iprep 101 V006.2 and I have updated the Iprep program. I have also loaded the most recent definitions. Any ideas?
Try using an older release like iPrep 101 v0.0.6 instead,and update your firmware definitions file.The "No Valid Firmware Loaded" is a problem with the definitions file.You need to get the ixDef.xml file and place it in the install directory overwriting the original ixDef.xml file.I hope this helps out a little bit,but the definition file is the problem.
I went back and uninstalled iPrep 101 V006.2 and installed iPrep 101 v0.0.6 instead, I replaced the definitions file with the newest one. I am still getting the "No Valid Firmware" message. The odd thing is that if I try to load just the normal firmware(without my key inserted)Iprep takes it.
Oh ok yeah don't put your key in the firmare in iPrep 101 the program will autimatically do this for you when you run it through your Xbox 360.It doesn't recognise the hash check,so it can't be touched once you put it in iPrep.This is what you do alright take the Ixtreme firmware untouched and place it in iPrep 101.Then run it through the steps,and it will dump your orig.bin file,and then inject your key from you dvd drive into the hacked firmware when you use the USB method or NTFS4DOS.I hope this helps you out m8,and yeah its not recognising the firmware because you changed the hash when you injected your key into it.The only time you will want to do that is if you use Firmware Toolbox or a different method.
