When loading save files from multi psone disc games do I need to use Cwcheat and epsxe every time?

My apologies if the title wasn't too descriptive but say for example I'm playing Final Fantasy VII and I have to change discs. Will I be able to continue playing using my next eboot or will I need to save a memory card image using CWcheat and open it up in epsxe then PSXgame edit then transfer it back onto my psp?

With Squaresoft games, all you have to do is save when the disc is over, exit out of the game, open the EBOOT of the next disc, and load the save file.

For other multi disc games, you can use the following guide to make a multi-disc EBOOT:
