OK Ive had my PS3 for about 3 months now, Ratchet & Clank and Stealth on BR were included in the box.

I bought GTA4 for it straight away and that works fine. Just decided to unwrap the Ratchet & Clank game and mess about with it for a bit.

Put disk in it installed what it needed, start game, NO SOUND!

Why is there no sound at all? Any1 have this problem or know how to fix it.

Erm.. well just tried to see if GTA4 still plays and guess what, no sound with that either!

I have the NAruto demo installed and that plays perfectly with sound.

Hmm, maybe the 2.42 update reset my settings? though that didnt happen with the other updates???

first off do a soft reset, put your ps3 in standy and hold down the power button till you hear 2 beeps. although i dont think your settings have anything to do with it since the naruto demo on the hd has sound.
do you get sound on the XMB menu?

since none of the disc games have sound it could be a problem with the BR drive. try the BR film you got and see if there is any sound, also try a dvd and see if theres sound.

Thanks for the reply. It was due to having DTS 5.1 and dolby 5.1 ticked in the manual audio settings list. I ticked these when I was trying to get my mkvs working. Dont have 5.1 speakers so that could have been the problem with not hearing anything.

GTA4 and R&C must support 5.1 sound whilst the Naruto demo doesnt.
