Indian verbs are still probably better than the rest of the "other branded" discs out in the market. Made in singapore is what you're looking for. Others have reported that memorex discs are also okay.
Pioneer 115D or a benq drive would be ideal. I have a nec 3550a and it works great. The burner should support booktyping.

Verbatim DVD+R DL from Singapore are what you want
From India should work ok, but are not as good a quality
Memosux discs should be avoided as they do not have a great success rate.

the only way is to look at the packaging to see where it's made. i don't think newegg will tell you where they're from.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10

got a whole lot more to list . . .

i think what he means is, there no way to tell until you have them in your hands. because you cant physically see the product online.

should've made it more clear. my bad.
sites, like newegg, doesn't post all info about the media; most notably the country it was made in. so you have to have the package with you, physically, to verify where it's from. even with dvd info pro, you physically need the media.
but with verbatims, you'll rarily get coasters. there may be the occasional bad batch, but the cd/dvd media section should be able to tell you if you have a bad batch.

Your forgetting to him how to read the label. For instance if you go to best buy, and see Verbatims, chances are the 15 pack are 8 x and 20 pack are 2.5 x speeds. IF you read the label, MIS = Made in singapore, and MII= Made in india. I stay pretty much with the 8x, someone told me they just are more durable as apposed to the 2.5 x, but I have NEVER had a problem running MIS, alway sflawless. True new egg wont tell you, but im noticing the 15 packs to be ONLY MIS at best buy.
