so bought a psp off ebay and guy said it was already hacked. so got some questions hoping someone can help me out.
1. i dont think it has Pandora's battery is in it or rather it doesnt look like the battery been taken apart. is this going to matter that i dont have it? is it one time thing then don't need it again? it plays backups right now.
2. psp version is 3.90 m33-3 (sorry im at work so not positive but its the number i get when going to system info) on there right now and i want to upgrade but useing new mem card. do i just do the same steps to that would do to make a magic stick?
3. am i able to play online with a hacked psp even if i have the orginal copy in?
4. am i able to update the psp itself?
5. heard you can connect psp to ps3 and play off tv but can you do it the other way? can you play ps3 off the psp screen? say have the ps3 running the game but video and audio go to the psp? (really doubt this one just hoping)
answer1: A pandora's battery is used to downgrade or recover bricked psp's. It is recommended to have in case you brick your psp. If you have a pandora you can use it as many times as you please. To know if you have a pandora battery, deos your psp turn on automatically when you insert the battery? If it deos you gots a pandora...

answer4: Yes. The m33 team (developers of the cfw) have made it where the psp updates to their latest cfw whenever you select the network update option (CAUTION: this only works on psp 3.80m33 or later)

so as far as the battery goes, if it isnt one would you recommend me getting or making one? do you have to switch it back and forth to play. i understand the process but not sure if you have to go back and forth between the normal and Pandora
question 2: sorry i made since when i typed but reading it now i was obviously tired...anyways what i mean is he gave me his cards when i bought the psp and i want to use my 8gb card do i just have to turn that into a magic stick or can i just put games on it or what not?
question 4: how do i tell if it 3.80 or higher, is that the same as the 3.90 i have now? if so do i just update like normal but instead it updates there stuff not sony update?
i would recommend making one...its fast and easy...and if you dont want to spend $40 on a new normal battery then you can just make your pandora battery normal again...
as far as playing...you dont really have to change back n forth...you can use a pandora to play games...although i wouldnt recommend using a pandora battery to play games cuz the pandora was made to read and load cfw from the memory stick...and since the stick isnt a magic stick...it could cause error/brick...
you dont have to do anything to your 8gig card...just use that to have your movies,games,etc...if one of the memory sticks the guy gave you is a magic stick, just leave that one alone and dont use it...save it so you can use it when and if you make a pandora battery...
and for your cfw...you are higher than 3.80m33...all you got to do is hit network update and you will d/l and install the lates m33 cfw (which is 4.01m33) Be advised tho....once you update you MUST install the 1.50 kernel addon for 4.01m33 or else your hombrew (i.e roms/emulators/custom applications)wont work.

Heres a link that shows you how to make magic memory stick its a 210mb download but its got everything you need. also you should use the 1gb stick as the magic memory stick. when you extract the files after you download them just extract file 1 and all 3 files will extract into it.
OK, everything is working got games on there playing them and enjoying them. had to deal with a few 801##### something or other errors but figured it out. now about online play
does anyone know if you can play hack psp online either with backup or even original?
I'm not 100 percent sure because I don't play online, But I've heard you cannot play online with CFW. I think you must use Xlink Kai. This app is for modded gaming consoles that want to have free online play.
