i'd spend the money on a pci wifi card. the linksys wmp54g can be found for $40
but how can your wired connection be bad?
Well, since I live in the Burnaby area of BC Canada, I have Shaw as an ISP, their connection to our house is downright horrible, the modem can not hold their signal for more than 4-8 minutes without re setting automatically(it is the 10th modem and the 5th router, those are not the problem)
We are to get Fiber Optic internet ASAP, but that is like 6 months away as the City of Burnaby needs to give permits to lay the x KM long cable in the city's underground service tunnels.
As for now, I use a really unreliable usb wifi adapter to "Borrow" internet from the neighbors....
Sorry for the double post I should throw out my system specs to help a bit...
