Thinking of modding, but few questions first...

I'm thinking of modding my wii w/ d2pro9 v3 + v4c wiiclip presoldered, but I just got a few questions before (I know these questions may have been asked b4, but I'm not sure what to search):
1. Is there any benefit to modding other than the ability to play backed up games?? Because homebrew is already possible on an unmodded wii anyway...
2. That modchip I mentioned above^...how does it exactly "clip" on? I'm a little confused about that. Can anybody give me a link to a video or picture that shows how it gets clipped on? Because I can't find anything...
3. I have read a whole bunch of stories about how some backups won't play on modded wii's, which makes me question if it's even worth the $70 and voiding of my warranty...
Again, sorry if all of this has been asked already, but I'm not sure what exactly to search for to find straightforward answers.
Thanks in advanced.

1. You can play modified versions of Guitar Hero, and you can backup up to 4 gamecube games in one DVD. Those ones just can to mind. Theres more.
2.Video Download
3. Yes it is worth it. BTW the wii has no void sticker, so you don't void anything.
Hope this helped.

Theres no games that cant be backed up and played with a modchip, just people who have trouble for any number of various reasons. Mostly cheap disk issues or not following directions.

Thanks a lot for all the info, guys.
Wiichess: That video help A LOT! It seems incredibly easy...a lot easier than I thought it would be. And if you say the warranty won't get void, then I'll be buying a modchip very soon!
By the way, that d2pro9 v3 + v4c wiiclip presoldered is one of the best and easiest ones out there right now, right?

I'm getting mine from modchipcentral.com, which I hear is the best site around for wii modchips.
And there isn't any additional wii software I have to get to use the modchip is there? Just clip on, test, and play right?
ADD: And the chip I chose will work w/ the d2c chip, right?

no you don't need any addition software. Yes D2pro9 works on all wii drives.

Make sure you choose to get the D2Pro v3 soldered to the WiiClip unless of course your going to do that yourself.
Also pick up a tri-wing screwdriver you will need it to open the Wii.
For this option at ModchipCenteral go to Wii-clip V4C Solderless Clip for D2Pro9
Under Wii Clip Extras choose D2Pro9 V3 Soldered on + Triwing

That's the one I'm gonna get, with the "soldered on" option.
That will come with everything you need.
Don't forget to have them solder it if you are not going to do it.

Just two more questions:
1. If I already have the twilight hack & homebrew channel installed on the un-modded wii, and I install the mod chip, nothing will mess up will it? I won't have to reinstall the homebrew channel w/ the dvd image version or anything?
2. Do the nintendo updates interfere w/ the mod chips? e.g. Did d2pro still work for people when 3.3 was released?

Then wiikey 2 it is.
My sig is Amy Lee of the band Evanescence after a performance on The Tonight Show.
She had this "yay!" expression on her face after she finished playing that was really cute and funny lol

I was wondering if someone can clear something up for me:
I have a v3.3U (the one released months ago), and I want to install a .wad (VC Game). Should I just use wad manager to do it? Is that all there is to it?

Yep. Thats all you need to do. You should probably also install a custom IOS now while its easier so that, if you ever update by accident or someone thinks they're being helpful by running a system update you can continue to use wad manager.
