Hey Everyone,
I am at a complete loss here. I have ISO backups of some of my Wii games that I cannot get to work. All I get is the black screen asking to eject the disk and see the Wii instruction manual. I have a USA Wii with a d2Pro9 chip, Verbatim DVD-R disks, burning at 4x, and using ImgBurn (basically doing everything this forum has told me to do). My friend's backups on Verbatim disks work fine in the Wii, so it's not the chip. I've made too many coasters and need help. My DVD burner burns movies just fine, so I don't think it's the burner. Many of the ISOs are PAL, but I ran them through RegionFrii and BrickBlocker first. Is this the cause? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What is the DVD drive that you are using to to backup the disc with? It's got to be the LG-8164b model (or the ones before that, 8163b, 8162b, 8161b).

I had my friend back them up with his WiiKey RawDump program. On a side note, I have updated the firmware to my DVD burner as well.

Is your d2pro9 chip updated to the most recent firmware?
Does your chip have multi-region enabled?

Some games are not region free compatible. There is a region compatibility list that you can check to see if it is region compatible.
WiiBrickBlocker is not compatible with all backups either.

I'll try creating the config disc for the chip and see whether multi-region is enabled. Hopefully that will fix it. Also, I'll try to update the firmware for the chip. I appreciate the comments! I've researched the hell out of this and just keeping hitting walls!

I can't even get the config disk to work. All I did was download the ISO from the D2Pro website and burn it to a Verbatim disc at 4x. The Wii still does not recognize the disc and I get the same blank screen asking me to eject it and turn off the Wii. Is there something I'm missing here??

It was totally the media I was using. I bought some Verbatim DVD+Rs, and they work flawlessly. However, the Verbatim DVD-Rs I have only work half the time. Weird. Anyway, that was it. Thanks for everyone's help!

You might have a batch of Phillips that work now but next time you buy them you might not be so lucky. Plus they will probably degrade quicker then better quality media would. But again that all depends on what type of die is used on the Phillips you use.
