USA AC Power Cord with AUS converter?

So my Australian Wii power cord stopped working and rather then buy the expensive australian one for 40$ i can buy an American power cord + plug coverter for cheaper. But my question is will this have any effect on my wii? and will it still run ?

in australia we run 240v and in america its something different so is it still ok?
