Ok ive decided to mod my 360 i have everything i need i think... my dvd burner burns dvds but im not sure if it burns dual layer dvds ive had it for a few years now so im not sure on the front of the drive it says dual layered but it doesn't say if it just reads dvd-9s or if it burns them also i took it out of my pc to see the brand and it's not on there just a sticker to to a website to update the firmware heres the site

ill know tommorrow i guess when i try to backup a game although i could be wasting money on a box of verbatims if it doesn't work

Also i installed the same dvd burner into a new computer that already had a dvd burner i went to my computer to make sure my pc recognized it and it didn't just the first one but when i right clicked on the first drives icon both drives opened any help would be great THX!

If it says dual layer then more then likley it can burn dual layer.

All DVD-ROMS/Burrners should read dual layer disc. So if it is labled dual layer then more then likley it means dual layer burn compatible.

As for the 2 drives your having issues with...

Make sure you have one drive set to Master and place that at the end of the IDE ribbon cable and set the other as Slave and place it in the middle of the IDE ribon cable.

any dual layer dvd burner will work for burning.

to rip games you will need the the samsung sh-d162 drive, flashed with kreon firmware.
