hey i got a lg burner which can burn dvd+r dl. Will it work or do i gotta buysome sorta special type

P.S. i've reading some stuff and apperantly some burners set booktypes and some don't whats a booktype and if my burner doens't set it how can i do it myself

google search the model of the drive and see if it auto booktypes or not

Booktyping is basically your burners ability to burn a disc in a format that is more compatible with DVD players.

For example a burner that can not booktype will just burn the DVD as a DVD+R DL.
One that can booktype can be set to burn them as DVD-Rom. DVD-Rom is more compatible with more types of players because that is the format in which original games you would buy are in.

If your burner can booktype then you can use IMGburn to burn your files. It can set the booktyping (little icon of a book by the speed setting)

ok i saw and it says that it has booktype. do i have to set the booktype when i'm burning with imgburn

Why not make the games as compatible as you can to help insure they work.

ok so to change m booktype i go into the booktype menu(in my case) go to LG there the change for setting should be changed to dvd+r dl and the new setting to dvd-rom right

Yes, you set it to burn all DVD+R media as DVD-Rom. Might as wel;l set it for both DVD+R and DVD+R DL discs

You can also set this each time you burn with IMGBurn unless your burner has some software or way to set it so that it will stay.

Like my burner has a tool called Q-Suite where you can change many settings for the burner and once set they stay that way.
