So the other day i accidentally stepped on my new DualShock 3 controller. I was able to snap the pieces back together but it seems i lost the spring to the L2 trigger. Does anyone know how these go together or can i use a spring from a ps2 controller? it still works but the L2 button is really touchy and it doent come back to the original position when pressed. Any help appreciated.

Well you've only got two options.

1.) Try to return it and get a replacement, say it did it on its own over time. If you got it at walmart you're pretty much guaranteed to be able to return it, if the ds3 came with the console I'd just go to option 2 rather than dealing with Sony.

2.) If that doesn't work your going to have to take the controller apart, find the spring (it's likely still inside the controller somewhere) realign it and put it back together. I haven't done it myself but my friend had to before and he said that it was a tedious pain in the butt to do.

It's a pain in the rear to piece those back together.

Try to exchange it first.

Thanks for the advice, here are my options.

Ordered from newegg, lost original packeging. :(
took ds3 apart and could not locate spring, i may have sucked it up in the vaccuum. I have several ps2 controllers if you think i could grab a spring from there.

Will wal*mart take back things w/o receipt and packeging.

Or the sly way could be, buy a new ds3 from walmart, place the old one in the packeging and return it! :) anybody?

That's what I would do, well actually have done before. The price of the ps3 went down 100 bucks like 2 weeks after i got it so I bought another and returned it with the old receipt BWAHAHAHAHA!
