I might get a Xbox 360 soon and I was wondering how do you get files from your PC to your 360? I read somewhere on the Microsoft site that the included data transfer cable is not for use with other devices besides your 360. Is there another cable to use to connect to your PC or something?

depends what you mean. If your thinking you are going to be able to download stuff and then put it on your hard drive like the original Xbox after you modded it then your out of luck.

Datel makes products that you can use to transfer your game saves from your hard drive to the PC and then back again if that is what you need.

If your talking more about files like music then just visit Xbox.com and they have instructions on how to stream or transfer media.

Thanks for replying. So I can not just plug my hard drive into my PC and transfer music and video files like that? I searched on Xbox.com and I found this article which tells me how to stream media from my PC, but I cannot find how to transfer media to my 360. Is that even possible for the 360? If so, can you please give me a link to it? Can the Xbox 360 stream the web on it?

the best way to do it is to just use an external HDD for your music and such. Movies as far as i know you can only stream and only in a limited amount of file formats. That is why i can not wait for the new update that will allow me to watch my Netfilx "watch instantly" que.

Do I need the 360 Max Drive, or can I just use any external hard drive? Could I just use my flash drive to store my media and play it on the 360?

Check Xbox.com
I think that it will recognize some USB devices. Like i know it will recognize some MP3 players and such.
