As the months have gone by and after many laggy matches and disconnects I have finally found the source of the problem. The Jabra bluetooth headset is causing mass interference with my PS3's WiFi.

I've read up on and and I've found that many other people have started to figure this out as well.

I've confirmed my theory on the jabra using mgo's connection bar. Immediately after turning the headset completely off my connection goes from one red bar to full bars. In case your thinking its just my connection you'd be wrong i get around 9.2mbps download and about 700-1200kbps upload and it happens in game and out.

After messing around with it for a while it seems that it only occurs if I am within 10 feet of the PS3.

My ps3 is a later model of the 60gig about a month or two before it was discontinued. It was purchased mid June 07. Please post your ps3 type and weather or not you have been experiencing net difficulties while using the jabra as well; I'd like to find out if it is a problem with my version of PS3 or a wider spread problem.

Im using the Jabra from warhawk as well. I did not start having connection problems untill recently. Im a Sony die hard but I did not notice problems untill @ the last update. ????? I do have a Motorola that I have not used in a LONG time. Will have to try it out. COD4 network errors are getting old. I can see that the errors are not just me as when it starts to glitch, I see others glitch and hear others grip.

coincidence?? before update, WIFI signal strenth on the PS3 was @ 70%. after update 42. I had to make a tin foil dish and mount it behind my Lynksys WRT54GS to get signal up to 60%. Might be related, might not.

It has been happening for months now but until i tried it with the mgo connection meter I had convinced myself it was just a coincidence as well.

And yes it goes to red to green without fail multiple times on different days, I've tested the crap out of this theory to come to this conclusion which I'm not too happy about.

Fingers crossed for the Socom BT headset, until then I'm gonna have to keyboard it because I'm not blowing money on another half ass headset when the official headset is knocking on the door.

Please give it a shot and post back with the results, as I had said mgo has a connection bar that you can try it with; cod4 isn't the most reliable game to try it with because it doesn't have anything to measure connection strength.

I want to put some nails in this coffin.

It's not just Jabra. It has happened to a lot of people I know with all brands of headset. The Wifi and Bluetooth interfere with each other so if you're having connection problems try going wired.

Router is too far away, and is it just some people with the jabra that have the problem, or does it need to be under certain circumstances? Also does my model of PS3 have something to do with it?

Well, I disabled the Jabra last night and Set up my old Motorola H500. The H500 worked while in the COD4 lobby the first time and quit working from then on. Played @ 15 matches online with no connection problems. My son and some friends stayed up all night playing. He was supposed to set the Jabra back up. Will find out if he started having problems afterward.

Was the headset quitting or the connection?

My friend has the same problem with COD4 and his Jabra BT125, it doesn't happen to me though and I currently use the headset as well. I'm getting the new SOCOM headset though anyways.

It was the head set that quit. Had no connection problems. Last night, we paired the jobra back up. Had some connection problems while playing. Turned the jobra off and connection was fine while it was off. ????? I have a week 3 60 gig.

I had a Motorola that did the same thing, the problem is it cant accept multiple audio inputs so it shuts itself off. Almost all moto's will do that, they're useless for anything besides mobile phones.

Hm, it seems that the 60 gigs are the ones with the problem. Has anyone with an 80 or 40 had problems while using a bt headset?
