I'm a psp newbie here, been reading up as much as I can about this custom firmware stuff before I buy my psp.
I have found someone who sells pandora batteries and 'magic' memory sticks. The process involved seems relatively simple with these two items, in fact too simple to be true!
Can someone please clarify for me, if I buy a pandora battery and the magic mem stick to upgrade a brand new psp slim, what exactly is the process I follow and is there ANY chance i could brick my machine doing this?

hi the process is to put the memory card into the psp then the pandora battery a menu will appear on the screen for example press X to install 3.71m33(custom) press O to install 3.71(official) you press X to install the custom, 10seconds later you have custom firmware on your psp. i have never hard of a psp bricking over a pandora battery and magic stick and i have upgraded alot of psp's to custom firmware using the battery and card with no problems at all.
This guy is charging $60(AUD) for the pair, but he's the only one i have found so far that sells them within Australia.
Good news though, I have instead found a premodded console for $280 on ebay, so I dont mind paying $10 above retail price to have someone else mod it for me and have the piece of mind that the whole process will not cause me an ulcer.
Though my curiosity won't be satisfied this way, maybe have to buy a cheap machine on ebay, mod it myself, and if it doesnt fail resell...
