Being able to patch to play offline after ban?

I've searched and have read that getting banned only effect connecting to xbox live, therefore you may still play offline as you please. However I know some game require you to patch your xbox 360 before you can play it, so I was wondering if you can still patch your banned xbox offline with a cd. The offical 360 site offer download-able patch to burn on a cd to update your box offline.

I want to know when you do that with a banned xbox360 will it still allow you to patch from the cd or will it not work?

are you talking about the dashboard updates? if that's the case, yes u can update your dasboard version by burning a file u download it off from MS and burn it on a cd or dvd and just pop it in the dvd drive. the only problem is that MS does not keep all its dashboard updates on its website and the patches. the latest dashboard update is the autumn 2007. additional patches and updates, you have to have xbox lives to update it.

Okay thanks. I was just thinking about it since I play my games offline 99.9% of the time anyway.
