loading game saves???

Does the PS3 not allow game saves to be loaded anymore?

I D'loaded a game save for GT5P, since it's a demo i'm not going to bust my balls beating it, i just want to play it. Anywho, i d'loaded a game save it was for my version of game (NA/NTSC, spec-II)
I unzipped it, put it in the PS3>SAVEDATA folder, copied it to my PS3 but when i start up the game it doesn't load. It starts me over like brand new.

This same thing happened a while back on a Bad Company game save i had. Did Sony put in place a watchdog that stop you from loading gamesaves...or is the more to it than jusy copying it to the HDD on the PS3?
