The problem that i'm having is when i turn on my 360 and login to my xbox live account, it doesnt connect, throwing up the test connection trouble shooting thing from the side of my screen. since atleast half a year ago, i have had to use my psp or computer to connect to the internet 1st, then the 360 would magicly connect -_- and its annoying at tmes! does anybody know more about this problem?
I currentley have a cable connection, hooked up to a D-Link 524 wi-fi router, and just an ethernet cable is what connects my 360 to the router.
9 times out of 10 its your router.
try hooking it up right to the modem, if that works, you need to read on the net how to make your router do port forwarding.
YEah, i did have a hunch it was the router, but looking at all the settings when i gointo the router config in firefox (192.168.0. etc) i dont know what most of it all does, im in the WAN section, (assuming thats where i start) but the only thing that sticks out like could be the problem, was the "auto reconnect" which was disabled, but thats it, apart from all the different types of ip addresses aswell
Ok! sorry about the long over night wait for a reply, but, my connection was being used by the family, so i had to wait to test out whether the portforwading had done the trick. I had found tis rather nice portforwading site for the 360 - heres the link:
I tested the 360 if it'll connect on 1st launch, and suprised, it did connect!! Thanx for your help homesick!! i wouldnt of known it was the 360 settings i had to change let alone the router :S
