I got a wii from ebay and It's a D2C2 or a D2C. From the looks of it I think it's a D2C2. I did tons of research and the D2Pro looks like it would be best. I need something presoldered or solderless with a wii clip, that is upgradeable. I want to make sure that's the best chip. I'm not sure where to buy it from. Anyone know a reliable place? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes D2Pro is a very good choice, and an excellent chip. And yes there are places that presolder the chips to a clip, and all you have to do is attach it to the drive. Where to buy

Thanks for the info on where to buy. I think I need D2Pro but not sure what else I need to go along with it. I want a wii clip but besides the mod chip I'm assuming I need to buy the clip seperate is there anything else? What is the actual name for the clip? What is the difference between a presoldered chip and a solderless chip? Is one better than the other? My son really wants the modifications to his wii done but I've been putting it off because it seems like such a hassle. I get such a headache trying to figure all this stuff out. I really appreciate any help.

Ok a presolderd Chip + wii-clip means that the chip comes with a wii-clip attached, thats all solderless means!! the two main ways to attach a chip to the Wii is to solder it on straight with Kynar wire or solder it a clip and basically clip it on. the Wire job is better but is not easy to do.

If you don't want hassle then get a modder to chip it for you, I i know two good places cheap! you can bring it and recommended in England and Ireland.

As said the D2PRO9 is very good!! so is the "Wasabi v3"
You could also go with the D2SUN v3 if you want to be able to switch off the chip.
The D2PRO9 is my favourite chip but you need a programmer if you want to upgrade it completely(you can still upgrade the flash with dvd)
The wasabi on the other hand has no programmer and can be updated "entirely" by dvd.

Any of the above chips will do the D2C or D2C2.
