I have a few questions regarding backups that I have not been able to find an answer for:

1. What is the point of trucha signing backups if you need a modchip to run them? Isn't the whole point of a modchip to enable the running of backups that are not signed?? Or do you not need a modchip to run trucha signed backups?

2. Can I use geckoOS to run trucha signed backups without a modchip in firmware 3.2? What about 3.3?

3. I am on firmware 3.3... Would I have to downgrade back to 3.2 in order to run backups when I install a modchip?

4. Can I run trucha signed backups without a modchip in firmware 3.2?

1) Some people like to mod disc images (for example, making SSBB smaller), and then repack them. You need to sign the image to run modded iso's like this as far as I know.

2)No. You need a modchip to run wii/gamecube backups. Period.

3)No. Nintendo has yet to implement anything that can detect or disable a modchip.

4) Refer to answer # 2.
