Have read all information extensively, but I cannot get any homebrew apps to load up. All I see is the bubbly screen with nothing on it.

Steps I've taken
1. Format 2G SD Card on WinXP as FAT
2. Unzip app to SD Card (I've used many different apps, but this was the latest I've tried http://wii.brewology.com/index.php?page=generate&packId=2)
3. Put in Wii, navigate to homebew channel - all I see is the bubbles screen and two icons on the bottom right. The one of the right is flashing, and clicking on either of them doesn't do anything.
4. When I put the SD card back into my computer, it complains 'The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable'
5. Reformat, repeat, refail

-No Gamecube card inserted
-Wii version 3.2
-Homebrew channel installed via DVD w/ WiiKey

Any ideas or anyone else getting this issue?

I have actually - I've tried a Canon one and then I tried two Sandisk ones, which I'm told are the ones you should use with a Wii

What's the file structure of your card look like ?

Do you have a folder call "app" and you are putting all apps in their own subfolder in there ?

Remember that, at the root of the card, you must make a folder called 'apps' and within that folder, make a separate folder for each application. Then in each seperate application folder, you need 3 things:

-boot.dol
(This can be any homebrew app, but must be named boot.dol or boot.elf in order to show up in HBC)

-Icon.png
(128px by 48px. This is the icon for the app)

-Meta.xml
{Has the name and descriptions in it. Must be formated like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<app version="1">
  <name>Genesis Plus</name>
  <coder>EkeEke</coder>
  <version></version>
  <release_date></release_date>
  <short_description>Sega Genesis Emulator</short_description>
  <long_description>Write the long description here.
  </long_description>
</app>

Solved! - my internal card reader wasn't working properly. I bought an external SD card reader and everything works fine now. I was using a HP nc4200 laptop btw.

I had the same problem. so weird.. tried my SD external reader and BOOM! I'm good.

Using HP Pavilion dv2000

guess my card reader is being weird, because it's totally okay for photos and PSP stuff. maybe the homebrew channel software is just fussy
