How to mod GC2-D2B - what to use

Firstly apologies for posting something you may have seen many times already, I've tried to use the search but still wasn't sure whats best for me.

I'm a newbie to this and have recently purchased a Wii with the interest of chipping it myself. The issue is that I've done alot of reading and this is where I'm getting confused on what's best to purchase.

I have looked up my serial number on the Wii tracker database and the drive chip I have is GC2-D2B and the drive pins are most probably cut (I have not opened up Wii to check for myself).

I am guessing I would have to go down the soldered option (although I have no experience of this) but assuming I can find someone to do it for me, I was wondering what I needed to buy in the way of mod chip.

If the legs are cut I would NOT attempt modding it myself.
