So I have been reading up on modding a PSP since I am looking to purchase one. I travel a lot for work so would like something i can throw BACKUP GAMES on and roms and so forth. I was looking at a slim but think thats out of the question since it seems like you need to know someone with a modded psp already to do everything. Ive been looking on ebay for a fat psp with a 5a/b date code which is 1.5. Do I get a new psp with newer firmware? I want to be able to play games on there and go online and play online if possible. What route should I go to get to where I want to be. With all these different versions and softwares out there its confusing....I am not looking for instructions yet on how to do it just planning a route on what is best so i know what to buy

you can get a new slim and buy a pandora battery seperately and mod the PSP fine . .. .

the reason some of the tutorials say you need a moded PSP is to make a pandora battery so you don't have to buy it seperately...

so then i can mod a psp slim by just buying a pandora battery. Does the pandora battery come with instructions on how to hack it or is it pretty much diy?

you need a memory stick as well... there are tons of tutorials ... read them over. once you read everything read it again and it will start to make sense

yea and most psps have been updated on ebay so your going to have a hard time unless you type in 1.50psp or 3.71m33 psp
