Any estimate on the Lite-on Drives?

Does anyone have any idea when they think the lite on drives will be able to be flashed?
Also, I haven't been following the whole firmware scene lately, so when exactly did the firmware's start appearing?
My 360 just red lighted and now I have to send it away, but I'm told I'll almost certainly get it back with new hardware and a lite-on drive.

yes u will definitely get the lite on drive and lite on drive will never be flashed or modded. i would recommend u to sell ur system and buy someone who is selling modded xbox 360.

Well I would say find someone to repair the 3RROD so you dont have to go through the problem of finding a buyer and then looking for a premod or doing the mod yourself. At least if you fix the 3RROD you know it still is flashed w/your firmware you put on it.
Thats just my opinion and what I would do.

As you are probably aware we retired from making Xbox modchips some time ago and have only made a few add-ons for the 360 here and there. However we have been barraged with requests regarding the new Liteon drive.
So we're being sent a couple and have agreed to at least have a look. We'd prefer there to be some flashing solution of course then the FW guys could do what they do best, however it looks like a read only masked rom. From what we can see atm there is nothing that looks any more complicated than the original Xbox hacking we did, so we'll see what we can do. The motivation hasn't been there for a long time but maybe this will kick us in the ass like the old days
Note: C4EVA may have made some progress so if he needs anything from us or if we will be wasting our time - just get him to drop us a line - thanks.

I have a feeling the Lite-On drives will be hacked since C4EVA and Team Xecuter are looking at it.It is a read only mask rom though,so the chances of keeping the drive are probably slim to none unless an additional storage device such as a modchip or another drive controller chip is used to store the firmware.Its not going to be an easy task hacking these drives,but I wouldn't say it can't be hacked.I think its a good idea to give it some time before giving up since it will take some time.It wasn't that long ago when some hackers discovered that the Hitachi 79 drives could read/write without a mochip or using an external programmer.

I know enough about someones knowledge when they sit there and say dumb things like *Never* as if they worked on the system themself. You dont say never to something you have no hands in come on now. As far as the drive goes I agree with you about the work around, but one can only hope it doesnt stay chip only. And nice to know your around ddp makes me feel safe. =)

yes ddp is right.. i am entitle to my opinion.. and yes i do mod system for myself and i know the knowledge. please dont argue with me.. people like u just want to dispute with others...

yea thanks for the heads up, and john now you are just plain lying. no coder for a lite-on drive would say they are affraid to do an x-clamp fix as you stated a couple of days ago.. come on now. lets be serious.

Hi guys , as far as this bloody lite-on drive goes I would be interested in just getting the key code , if anyone knows how to just read the key drop me an email ***email removed by loco*** , Ive flashed quite a few drives(thanks to the great gurus of the scene) and have a few mates with replacement drives (poor buggers) I think just drop the key into another model drive is better than nothing
