Hey peeps, I've been reading the post and seen that some people are having problems with the latest update the 3.3u. My Wii is modded and was working fine, had some issues with the drive, it burnt out, so i had the chip removed, sent my wii in to have the drive changed, replaced the chip and all was well. I came home took an update , which i believe brought me to the 3.3. It worked for a while then , puff, stopped reading games, I can get some games to play , but I have to reset it. I can get Wii fit to operate. If I tak ethat out and put a burnt game in , it will no longer play any game after that. It starts to spin , makes some noise , and then says cannot read disc. Even if i put wii fit back in. I have to reset the machine in order to get it to boot up.... Has anyone come up with a solid conclusion yet?
Theres a good chance your Modchip no longer will be compatible with your Wii drive if Nintendo replaced it. They would have replaced it probably with a D2C2 or D2E.
I am unsure which chip is in there. i am going to take it back to the guy who modified it for me. If the drive is one of the ones that you mentioned, will that mean i need a new chip or is there an update out there that will make it work?

Can you take a picture of the Modchip and post it?
As well look and see what chipset is on the Wii Drive. You can check this by looking at the bottom side of the Wii drive on the chipset and read what it says...
hi im new to this so be gentle with me my questioun to you is i've copied three wii games from a torrent site which came thru as isorar files i used nero to burn the files to discs which all went well but only one game plays and the other two play intro then say error# 001 unauthorised device has been found am i missing somthing
I got my wii up and running. I took it back to the place where I had it moddified. They did not put enough insalation between the chip and the casing so it caused problems. They are using the clip. IT's up and running, However I have noticed that on the memorx dvd-r , the games i have burnt at 4x or 6x never have any issues compared to the ones I have burned at higher speeds.
