the only way i could think of is to maybe bring your hard-drive to your buddy xbox 360 and download it off from his console. since your xbox 360 is banned. there is no way of accessing the xbox lives at all.

Can't do that because addon content is digitally signed to the console. It will be on the hard drive but only your friends console will be able to access it. When you put the hdd back on your system you won't have the downloaded content available.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

I heard that it is tied to your profile, not your console. If it were tied to the console then no one would be able to use a hard drive from one console on another they own, which you can.

So the only way you could download it on his is if you were signed in with your profile, using your hard drive. Which i beleive means you would have to migrate your account to his console, then download, then delete it, then migrate it back to yours.

I know this may not be what you want to hear but the easiest way would be to visit your local game store and buy the platinum hits version. It is new and is a 2 disc set. The bonus disc has all Forza 2 downloadable content on it.

Here is my advice. You have a banned modded console. Just wait because the new 2 disc set (platinum ed.) will be out. Someone is bound to upload the bonus disc to a torrent site. Then you can just get that as it will have all of the Forza 2 DLC on it.

I had a guy that I let hold onto an extra modded 360 while I was modding his.

He told me that he was not able to get to any of his downloaded arcade games etc. from his hard drive when connected to the loaner 360.

I thought I read that he would only be able to access the downloaded content while online but he said that didn't work for him either. Maybe he wasn't doing something right? But that's been my experience with it.

So while he might be able to get these car packs from another version of the game this time is there a definite work around for other downloadable content for other games?

There is no way. You'll have to get another console that can connect to Live if you want downloadable. Downloadable content is tied to the console that originally downloaded and can only be access on another console when connected to Live.

copperkid in your case with that guy, why couldnt he just use the liscense transfer kit that ms made. being able to re-download it on a banned console is one thing, but if you own the content, and you have a hard drive and live available to you, you can most ceartinally re-download the things you "own". i actually just read about another method in one of my gaming magazines. however in the orig. case i dont think it is possible if you dont own the content, because you would end up "stealing" it from your friend. however, if it is already downloaded on his HD, and saved it just might work now that i think out it. so go to ms.com and check out liscense transer kit or toold or whatever it is called. i think that is what you are looking for. i also made a thread about this awhile ago, so you could do a search on this site as well.

I could not think of a good way to explain it but yes. If you have a console with access to live, and you sign in with your profile, you can re-download anything you have previoulsy purchased.

But i am pretty sure that would not apply to Xbox Live Arcade games. Because would you not have to still have a connection to XBL to play those?

no prob. well stiemy i guess it just depends if the game needs xbl to run or not, but i am pretty sure you could play a arcade game just as well. personally i have never tried it, but i will have my other 360 put together in a day or too with no content at all on it, so if i remember and no-one answers the question i will try the process on mine and let you guys know what happens.

If your console red-ringed or you switched hardware for any reason, there was a good chance that you wouldn't be able to play your downloaded games unless you were connected to xbox live. Turns out the liscenses for the games were tied to the hardware, not just the gamertag. This caused a big problem for any gamer who didn't have the luxury of a 24/7 connection to the internet. Microsoft has now solved the problem and offers complete instructions on how to fix it once and for all at http://tinyurl.com/68fycz (or you can go to Xbox.com and search for the phrase liscense migration) so read away and get your games back guys!
