after unlocking the phone successfully the display still reads "Insert SIM Card" with any good SIM I put in it... is there a way to jumpstart it or reset it so it will read SIMs?
The unlock was good, it said "Phone Restrictions Off" and went right back to "Insert SIM Card"
Yeah, I thought about that, didn't do any good... is there a way to possible flash it or update firmware on these models? Or would I be more than likely looking at a bricked phone and bettr off tossing it?
What SIM are you trying anyway?
Have you tried a Standard SIM from T-Mobile to see if the phone works? No point flashing a dead phone!!
A repair shop might throw some light on the matter.
Also,
I'm not sure if it will work with the new "Smart" or 3G SIMs
If it was still locked it would ask for a restriction code when a new SIM in in it.
My guess is wrong type of SIM.
I have been trying the current SIM that works fine in my other 6103b, I don't know which kind it is... I wasn't aware that there was a difference. I'll check when I get home from work.
I guess I'll call a shop and see what they have to say.
