right now i have psp version 4.05 and i am not getting a custom firmware for it.

well sorry then you cant play downloaded games on a psp that does not have cfw. Sorry cfw is ure only choice if you want to play downloaded games

you can download the games from various online sources not that im telling you to do anything illegal but its your choice to download the games then put the games in a folder named ISO on your psp's memstick root menu.
