Hi,
I hope there is someone out there who can get my new Starview 1 box up and running.
I received a new Starview 1 box today and on closer inspection I now realise it's a cloned box !
That to me is neither here nor there all I want is something that works.
I have connected it up via the supplied serial cable and downloaded/flashed the STARVIEW 257 API.bin file via the GTRom v4.00.exe installer via port COM1 without any problem and it stated 'Download Complete' before I disconnected it.
But on connecting it to my TV all I get when I switch the box on is 4 dashes chasing in a loop from left to right on the left side of the display.
Is this a normal problem and what needs to be done to get it working ?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Regards,
zakogen.

Cheers,
zakogen

Hi,
Many thanks for that. I now seem to have a good flash and it starts OK.
I have followed the set up instructions and done a automatic scan but the vast majority of the channels throw up the following :
INFO : Scrambled or bad channel.
All these channels have a blank screen and no sound !
How can I unscramble these channels in order to watch them ?
Is it down to the bin file I downloaded or something else ?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Cheers,
zakogen.

Exit to s*y sports & let it update & you should be sorted.

The problem is that you didnt download the latest Auto Upate firmware , You will need to download the CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin as the one you used is the old version and it will not update the codes for you.

You can find it here : http://www.4shared.com/file/44560665/dcc...14-Core257.html

Do it the same way as you flashed before using the same gt rom loader :)

And do as Noely said above after you update it

menu > 1570
Turn "key emu" on
Go to "set default key" Press ok
Exit to s*y sports & let it update & you should be sorted.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Yes that sounds good but before I attempt this can you confirm that the CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin firmware is OK with cloned boxes and won't kill it ??!!

Hi,
Can anyone please solve my cloned Starview 1 box.
All has been working fine until the last few days when I have a Info pop up on screen saying 'Data is being updated... [60%]' and it just seems to hang on varying percentages !!
The box is flashed with CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin version firmware and has been fine since some early teething troubles (see previous info in this trhread).
Is there a new version firmware avaiilable for cloned boxes?
Does it need a new firmware flash or is my box knackered as its only 3 months old ??!!

Many thanks in anticipation.

Cheers,
zakogen
