First announced in 2007, Sony Ericsson's DRM-free PlayNow Arena media download store is finally coming on August 25th complete with 1 million, DRM-free tracks at launch. The tracks offered are from Sony BMG, Warner Music, and EMI and the company says they hope to have 5 million tracks by the end of 2009 when they have gone global. so that equates to £0.99 when it hits the uk, oh but i forgot everything in the uk costs more because of taxes........

the obstacles are high price (over 50 cents) and DRM and propitiatory hardware..
I see 2 obstacles dealt with.....

I agree with you Zippy now if they can just build a decent phone. Every ericsson I have ever had was a total piece of... let's just say they were flushed!
