After editing my videos using Premiere 6 for a couple of yrs. I decided to get a setup to put my finished vids on DVD. Had a shop in town build a 3Gig with XPpro,1G mem. and installed my newly bought Premiere Pro. Ppro has a simple (Export to DVD)that I intended to use.It is not an authoring thing where you can make chapters, menus and such but I cant afford Adobe Encore at this time(or any other). The man who put it together for me said no sweat, he would include Nero that would give me much more usefull features to burn with. He also installed WinMPG Video Converter, a player (InterVideo) and a few other things of use(Windows Media Player for example). Well, He tried for several days to make a DVD and could not do it. Since I had already paid for it he said he was just was not familar with Premiere Pro or other movie editors and that I would just have to read up, find the problem and figure it out myself. It has been 3 months now and many failed attempts and I have called everyone (Plextor on the burner), (Adobe about the error number) and I still have not made a DVD. I know how to edit videos but I am not understanding this DVD thing enough to help myself. I am not sure if the Premiere is encoding when you export it. I am not sure if Nero encodes while it burns (it says it is). I have tried using the WinMPG Converter to conv. to mpeg2 then burn in Nero. I just dont know. Is there anyone who could talk me through from Prem.Pro to burn DVD in Nero? I have taken whatever advice I was given by Adobe and others, like (make sure Norton AntiV isnt running). The only issue I can think of that I havent addressed is that I have been told that burning software likes to have exclusive use of the burner and if you have 2 burning utilities that they will interfere with each other. I would really like to keep the Nero. When I burn in Nero everything looks normal. The graphs show the burn in progress till they are at 100% but it just keeps counting time and does not rap up the session. I cannot even get out of the window. I have to manually shut off the CP to kill the process. Anyone care to help with any ideas please?
