Hi All, this is my first here :) I've been a regular visitor here and now I decided to join cos I'm going tomorrow to buy my first PSP.

I have a simple question that I couldn't find an answer to after a long search. I apologise if it's been posted before but honest I couldn't find it.
Here goes:

I'm going to buy a PSP tomorrow and I don't want to get one with a TA-088 V3 board!!! Is there a way to find out before I buy it???

there has been to tell tale signs on the box. the only way is to check the system software.

pretty sure that the new madden blue psp is 4.05, so you can ignore those. best chance is either the star wars pack or the standard piano black.

From what I heard, the blue madden comes in 3.95 firwmare. So, yes it would be hackable.

I don't think there is a way to tell if it is a TA-088 v3 mobo unless you try it with a pandora ...

Thanks for replying, I already bought one and it's okay!
I learned that you can tell by loking at the barcode on the box, the letter it ends with should be a G or smaller, later letters means V3 mobos.
