never heard of that but i guess if i were to assume it would be a battery? i dont think i have ever seen one on a 360 though? i would wait and see if someone else here has experienced this problem.

ive got the exact same problem. never realised it before but it is getting very irritating now. Not noticed a battery when i opened mine up but it must have some sort of external power source. i woulld imagine it being a cell battery or something like that of a pc but cant say for sure. Havnt really looked around for a fix but when if i do il mke sure i post :). To be fair it doesnt bother me other then the fact that im sure my save games have been playing up ever since it started.

If it helps anyone else i have a modded 360 elite with the falcon mobo and benq drive (maybe we will see a trend).

===>EDIT

just did a quick search and it seems the 360 does not have a cmos battery (dont quote me on that though)

Are you by any chance not on live? as in no ethernet or wireless connected whatsoever, because im not and ive read that the clock automatically updates it self from live so if you cut all power to the box because it cant store the info it resets. Like i said this is just from a quick google search so im not saying this is certain or even true. just thought id post incase it helps :)

peaceout

This also happens to me too and yes I am not connected to Live. It is definately something to do with Live as when I was connected to the internet through the ethernet port, the date and time would update automatically, however now when I update the date and time, they reset every time the console is turned off.

This is kind of stupid because if computers have small cell batteries to keep settings in the memory, then why doesn't the 360? Even the PS2's had this function.

PS2 - Swap Magic 2.0 DVD - Swap Magic 3.0 CD - Memory Card Exploit - Swap Magic 3.6 ELF - Swap Magic 3.8 ELF

PSP SLIM - OFW 3.71 - CFW 3.71 M33 - CFW 3.71 M33-2 - CFW 3.71 M33-3 - CFW 3.71 M33-4 - CFW 3.80 M33 - CFW 3.80 M33-2 - CFW 3.80 M33-3 - CFW 3.80 M33-4 - CFW 3.80 M33-5 - CFW 3.90 M33 - CFW 3.90 M33-2

XBOX 360 - Currently Researching Mods

PS3 80GB (Soon to be 320GB) - OFW 2.50

My flashed 360 would always be reset to 7:00am when I would turn it on and the date would always be like November 24. Never messed with it to figure it out because I didnt care.

I do wheelies and run from cops.

I also have a Falcon with a BenQ and it does the samething. It gets reset to the year 2005. The console was made Feb 2008. Everytime i set the time and date it always reverts back to 2005. I just don't understand why it does this.

when my power would go out on my original xbox it would erase the date and i would have to set it again but when u sign into live it automatically does it for you but im assuming you are having the same problem i did but u just dont have live to auto fix it for you

So let me get this straight,

Your 360 asks you to input the time and date every couple of days?

or

You just notice that every couple of days it's reset back to the default time.

Either way it's pretty weird. I mean every RROD console I've fixed has the date reset to the default but they never ask to be set with a current date/time. I know the original xbox does whenever it's been disconnected for awhile but I've not encountered it on a 360.

The only things that flash through my head would be to ask if you have it on a surge protector that gets switched off or do you unplug the console while you're away at work etc. or anything that would cause it to lose power or not hold a charge?

Good luck with this.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

i know my date on my benq is wrong, but thats because its not hooked up to the net so it wont autoupdate it and i never reset it after getting back from vacation. but it will hold the correct date when i do set it.

RudeDogg1--
when the time changes have you unplugged it or anything like that? or is the system turned off, but still plugged into the wall?
