I have tried burning movies to imation dvd+rs and none have worked with my PS2, even though it should be capable of reading DVD+rs (it's a version 4)

I haven't had any problems with any of the kinds of media when playing on a PS2. I think most of the media I have used is Memorex. I have also used Fujiflim, while I do have bad burns every once in awhile its generally my fault, not the media so try those out and good luck!
