I was wondering if you use an import copy of Tiger Woods what happens when you go online?

For example, if I'm in the US and I play the US version of the game, then when I go online to the Lobby, I see lobby names East and West and most (but not all) players are from US and Canada.

Now if I'm still in the US and I import the UK version of the game, then when I go online to the Lobby, do I end up in a UK lobby? Or does it somehow know I am in the US?

Basically what I'm really getting at is I can pick up a UK copy of Tiger Woods 09 for about $20 cheaper but it'll be a waste if I can't play against my US friends when I get home.
