I'm in the US, and want to play burned wii games. I was wondering how much a chip would cost, along with a wii clip, and a reliable place to order from.

Also if there is more than one chip that works for my wii, if it's not too much to ask, the differences between the chips would be nice, maybe an opinion too?

Anyway I entered my serial into that nintendo scene site and got this

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2C.

Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut.

Thanks.

Any of the D2C compatible chips will be fine. The most popular seems to be the D2Pro right now but they're all fine.

I'd go with the Wii Key, but that's just me.

Whatever chip you decide to buy, REMEMBER TO NEVER GET A CLONE.

I would give you a legit site but unfortunately I don't have it on hand at the moment.

I take back my previous statement,
I didn't read it correctly.

These guys are really good as well as there support - as said, go for anything for a D2C chipset - D2SUN is a good one because it supports most types of chipsets.

WiiKey is not compatible with D2C so do not get it.

I would go with D2Pro9 version 2.

The best place in my opinion to get it from is Modchip Central.com which you can find HERE.

Make sure you choose D2C/D2C2 in the drop down menu so you get a version 2 D2Pro9 also select YES if you want the D2Pro9 soldered to the Wii-Clip.

Modchip Central.com is in Canada but it only takes about 1 week to get your order. There is really no reliable place in the USA due to most not selling Modchips due to the DMCA.

HERE is the D2Pro website if you want to check it out.

No, you can get a presoldered wiiclip so you just have to snap it on. No soldering involved.

Wiikey is a Modchip for DMS/D2A/D2B drives. You have a D2C drive so it wouldn't be compatible.

Wii-Clip is a solderless solution between the Modchip and Wii drive itself.

I gave a link above that offers the D2Pro9 and Wii-Clip together. If you want them to solder the Modchip to the Wii-Clip it will cost $5 or you can choose to solder them together yourself.

Once the D2Po9 is soldered to the Wii-Clip you just snap the Wii-Clip onto the Wii drive chipset and thats it.

Below is the link to D2Pro9 + Wii-Clip incase you missed it before...

Alright thanks a lot, about to order.

So all I'll have to do is open up my wii, and insert the chip attached to the wii clip into some slot?

I'll have to read more about how to burn from that other thread floating around here, but other than that it seems I'm set.
