I've only had my 360 since May of this year so I've not been thru a major Live update. I have a BenQ flashed and wondering if this Fall update will affect it in anyway. Or can I just update and game on like normal?

Thanks.

Everything is just speculation right now. According to the "ALMIGHTY C4EVA" The pre updates have NO security implications at all what so ever meaning its less protected then when the 1st series of 360 came out at launch. IMO i think that saving an entire back on the hard drive would cause for harm, as people will be tempted to do it. Whats also funny is does that mean some one can rent a game and put it on the hard drive? onmly time will tell but give it a year the most, more likely less that people will be able to mod the Lite on drives.

In regards to MS allowing games to be copied to the hard drive, you still need to have the disc in the drive to play the game. They are allowing you to copy to speed up the load times only.

From what i have read about the update Deny360 is correct. You still need your game in the drive to play it even after you copy it to the hard drive.

To me that is just a complete waste, i am not bothering to put games on the hard drive until i can actually play them from the hard drive without a disc.

Personally I would only use it on games that I plan on playing a long time like GTAIV and Fable II. Other games I'm usually done with in a few days so not worth the effort.

BTW, it's reported I believe in either Game Informer or OXM that the average copy time is 7 minutes.

Some games have annoying load time and I wouldn't mind being able to speed them up even if it meant putting game on the hard drive while keeping a disc in the tray. I'd have to get a new hard drive though since I know my 20GB one isn't won't cut it.

yes that was said in OXM about the 7 min. load times. and i also agree with above that i would do it, but it would only be for games that i play alot. personally i like the idea. and yes the game has to be in the drive for obvious reasons.
