Hi,
I ordered a D2Pro9 mod chip. When you order online it asks you what firmware you want on the chip. V2 for D2C/D2C2 or V3 for D2E.
I have a D2C chipset.
Even though i specified V2 it looks like they are sending me the chip with V3 installed!!! clowns.
Will the V3 firmware work with a D2C/D2C2 chipset? If it doesn't, is there a way for me to change the firmware to V2?
Thanks,
Ken.

Some have had issues and others have not. So it really depends on your Wii.
Where did you order the Modchip and why do you think they are sending version 3 instead of version 2?

I got this off Modchip Central.
"If you choose the D2C / D2C2 option, you will receive it with the 2.3 firmware which is the D2Pro9 V2 since there is a firmware bug with the V3."
"If you choose the D2E option, you will receive the V3 since it works fine on D2E."

Got the chip from modcentral,I noticed in the order confirmation email it had,
D2Pro9 V2 / V3 Bundle (D2Pro9 V3 + V4C WiiClip + Triwing Screwdriver)
Options:
Soldered Together: Yes
Wii Chipset: D2C / D2C2
What concerns me is whats in brackets - D2Pro9 V3, but the chipset I specified is D2C/D2C2.
How can I tell what firmware is definately on the chip. If V3 firmware is on it would this cause a problem if used on a D2C/D2C2 chipset?

v3 is better, that's works with D2E, so it will works on D2C2, right?
there is even no d2c2 chips already, all doing D2E now.
enjoy life!

If you selected D2C/D2C2 then you should get the version 2. I wouldn't worry about it.
Just pop it on and try it. Even if it is the version 3 it might still work. Only a hand full have had issues with version 3 on their D2C/D2C2 drives.
As for telling the difference between version 2 or version 3 well I have no idea. Someone else will have to answer that.

If you look at the bottom of the chip. It will tell you.
