I bought a 16gig sd card its fat32 format so i copied over the files from my 1gig card (which worked) over so i can put all my emulator roms and stuff. So when I can to the homebrew channel its has the loading from sd and just stays there and nothing pops up. I go to the wii menu check the storage area and its says the sd card cant be used.

Is there a limit in size for sd card I can use on the wii for the homebrew channel?

Am I doing something wrong?

Yes I believe there is a 4GB SD card limit? Or was it 2GB....I know that you cannot use SDHC cards.

Max card size is 2 gigs, it must be formatted as FAT instead of FAT32 and as NDarkness said, no SDHC cards.

all 4 gigs are sdhc damnit so the max will be 2 gigs. Is there a way to play the roms without the sd card because all the sega genesis roms are about 1.98 gigs

Yeah you can download an emulator with roms and burn them onto a DVD.

omg you can play your roms via a dvd?

Can you play point me in the right direction on how to burn the rom (i have alll of them) where to get the right emulator for the wii and how to make it run and work in a dvd please

Your Wii would have to have a modchip installed for you to play roms off a dvd (to my knowledge). i have a non-chiped Wii with hombrew channel installed and i just play it through the sd card. does anyone know how to play the roms on a dvd without having to chip the wii??

It can be done if you have the custom IOS firmware, but you also need an emulator that supports reading from the DVD drive. So far as I've heard only the genplus emulator can do that currently.
