Hi I have been given a modified US Ntsc Pal version Wii. I have also been given games(modified ofcourse). Every time I turn it on It asks me to update it.Is this safe to do so or will it mess up my console? Also I have bought the UK wii fit and when I put the orginal disc in it also ask me to update? any suggestions I do not want to proceed as I might ruin im Wii. Ps. I Live in the UK.

There is no such thing as a US Ntsc Pal version Wii.

It is either a NTSC(U), NTSC(J) or PAL Wii.

What are the first few letters of the serial number on the Wii?

LU is North America NTSC(U).

So I would recommend not upgrading the Wii with any PAL update. You could end up with a region brick.

UK is PAL so if you do play any PAL games make sure they are backups and you have Wii Brick Blocked the game disc so no PAL update can be performed on the NTSC(U) Wii system.

As well I don't think the PAL version of WiiFit is compatible with an NTSC(U) Wii. You will more then likley have to return it and order a NTSC(U) version of WiiFit.

Thanku for ur help.

But not sounding silly but what is brick block and how would I go about doing that. is there a dummy guide? As I have no clue how to go about doing this. What is the benefit of this?
