Anyone know what the chances are of gettign the RROD on newer systems? did microsoft ever catch what was causing it and produce new systems that arent proned to it? I have 1 now and i get the RROD alot, I just flashed the drive but i can maybe only get 10 min of play before the RROD again. I just been unplugging the fan and letting it overheat then cool it down and play, I dont really wanna buy a x-clamp kit if its not going to work, my 360 is pretty beat up might be better to get a new one or used/refurbished,
Basically, if i get another, what are my chances of getting the rrod again?
If i open the case to flash the drive, and i do get the rrod at a later date, can i keep the seal on the system so it looks like it was never opened? :).
Also, anyways to fix the rrod 0102 error easier then buying a kit? :P. does the heat gun trick work for that? Cus i have 1, i use a heat gun all day installing sub-tyle/lanolium, so im experienced with 1.
they did some small things to newer versions but nothing that prevents the RROD. So your chances of getting it are as good as anyone else who buys one.
xbox 360 will always get the ROD no matter if the system is new or old. at first i thought MS would probably fix the ROD by now, but it seems like they have been paying attention or something else. I would definitely do the x clamp fix as it's the only method to permanently fix the xbox 360 ROD.
How long does the x-clamp fix last? permenatly? I kind of lost the bolts to screw the mobo back into the case so it kinda just sits thier for now, i have like 2 screws that will keep it in place but thats it, so does it have to be tight for the x-clamp fix to hold? :P.
to be honest, even i dont know how long the xbox 360 clamp fix will lsat till you get the ROD again. I am pretty sure it will last for pretty long like maybe couple of months, it's alot better than the towel tricks only last for up to 5 hours and even less. for the x clamp fix to work, you have to have four screw tightly on the gpu and the cpu. you can order the xbox repair kit on ebay, as you said you are missing two screws..
