Samsung Drive to Slow for new Media? Cant play new games?

Hi guys. I recently bought some new backup games for my originals from a guy, apon trying to use tha backups my xbox 360 wouldn read the discs and an unreadable error came up. All 8 of the games did this. Apon quering why these games didnt work he asked me if i had a samsung drive and if i did that was the problem because it is slow and wont read new media and eventually wont be able to play new games?

To me this sounds like rubbish can some one clear it up for me please. Thanks

Ok I have a question.

Are we talking xbox games???

Or xbox 360 games??

The reason..

The first edition xbox 1 consoles came with a cheap dvd drive that wouldn't read cd-r or dvd-r at all when second edition xbox 1 consoles came out they all came with samsung drives that could read everything under the sun.


However i have not heard of this happening on the xbox 360.

Any chance you can test the games on a friends 360? I've got a sammy drive and never had problems with any of the games and I've had my console for over 2 yrs now. I always use verbatim disks.

yea what he told you is bs, i have a launch console that has the x-clamp fix (needless to say its old and has some battle wounds) and it will play anything i put into it without hesitation. i also have a ms-25 that works just as well. that guys is feeding you a line of bs. sounds like to me he switched media trying to make an extra buck. tell him to quit being a tight wad and get the right media and make you 8 new games.

I agree, complete rubbish. I have an older 360 with a Samsung drive. And every game that i made (correctly) will work.
Now if it were flashed (modded) at a slow read speed then it is possible that it can cause a problem reading discs. But the drive itself is not the problem. This guy sounds like a scammer who gets your money and then feeds you a line of bull since most people would not know the truth.

I have a samsung drive and it works well with the fugifilm dvdDL
but if i try to use memorex DvdDl they will not work at all maybe try reburning on a diffrent media type

I have tried to reburn the games and only one seems to work so i created 7 coasters... He has agreed to make me 8 new games on different media. Thanks every one for the help,.

OKay i need some help...

The games i recieved first of all played in my friends Xbox 360 he has the new one with the hdmi port... Apon receiving the new games they 2 never worked and yet worked in his xbox again...

SO now i seem to believing this guy that i really need a new dvd drive. Does any one have a Old xbox 360 that plays backups of GTA 4, Battefield Bad Company, Unreal Tournament, Tom Clancys Vegas 2.

I have a feeling he is writing the discs to fast so the older drives cant read them. But yet i cant re copy them and get them to work.

Any one with ideas?

we already told you that is bs i have two samsung 360s one modded one not, one was bought 2 months after the launch and they both work perfectly. the drive could be going bad sure, but just because its older dosnt mean it cant play new games. thats total BS
