Pirate Bay trial delayed at least a couple of months

article published on 29 August, 2008

The Stockholm District Court has delayed the upcoming trial against the admins of the infamous torrent tracker The Pirate Bay, citing that gathering damage claims has taken longer than expected. Swedish authorities filed charges against the admins in January but as it stands now there is still no set date for any trial. ?The process has taken a lot of time. First, it took time serving ... [ read the full article ]

The torrent damages would be a lot lower if so many 1 and 2 star movies were not released. Four of five new movies are rated as wastes and don't consider paying theater prices. People download movies that look ok but not worth paying to see.

Peter Sunde however remains optimistic. ?In case we lose the pending trial (yeah right) there will still not be any changes to the site. The Pirate Bay will keep operating just as always. We?ve been here for years and we will be here many more.?
You will win Peter with having operated TPB this long, as well as having more than survived a raid from the cops who could find nothing illegal due to a torrent file being a text file or a search engine.

I will love to see the RIAA/MPAA press release when TPB wins their court case.

The thing is that in their country they are not breaking any current laws. They do not live in the USA sorry MPAA/RIAA but *bleep* you.

RIAA:

# Sony BMG Music Entertainment
# Universal Music Group
# Warner Music Group
# EMI

MPAA:

# The Walt Disney Company
# Sony Pictures
# Paramount Pictures Viacom—(DreamWorks owners since February 2006)
# 20th Century Fox (News Corporation)
# Universal Studios (NBC Universal)
# Warner Bros. (Time Warner)

everyone stop sucking the pirate bays cannon, they started entertaining DMCA takedown notices on their streaming sister site suprnovatube.com. why i have no idea, i was under the impression that they were both hosted on the same server floor and owned by the same people.

to the piratebay: STOP RESPONDING TO DMCA TAKEDOWN NOTICES SO YOUR SEARCH FUNCTION CAN ACTUALY START WORKING!!!! keeping links secret is lame, i thought the whole idea of supernovatube was for there to be ONE STREAMING SITE where you could upload movies and they wouldnt take them down. suprnovatube could be the swift death blow we have been looking for but its not going to work unless the pirate bay actualy stands its ground.

idk, maybe swedish law only protects torrents because the actual file itself is hosted on the seeders machine, not the pirate bay's servers.

georgeluv, you basically answered your own complaint. The Pirate Bay is free to operate under Swedish laws because it does not host ANY files. SuperNovaTube.com does. Therefor, unders Swedish law, SuperNoveTube is commiting copyright infringment, and The Pirate Bay is not.

Thank you.

I would like to see if he can remain with those words at the end of all this. If TPB wins i tell you this will set a precident i feel and will help other torrent sites in their battles.
