Wow.....ummm...
No, it is not possible to flash the liteon at this time (read only). But it is possible to read the firmware and spoof another drive with the key and spoof string from the liteon.
It's not an easy task, but worth it if that's all you have imo.
I laugh at read only actually...time will tell.

Its been confirmed |CL| that it is a read only masked rom by numerous hackers: Geremia,C4EVA,Tiros,Schtrom,TMF,Redline99,ModFreakz,Podger,Team Xecuter etc...
There won't be a way to flash the firmware back to the rom stored on the Lite-On drives as far as I know without an additional storage device to keep the firmware.I guess maybe a year or so from now someone may figure out a way,but from the information I gained so far its not possible.

As I said, time will tell.
I'm not saying I know more than the "numerous hackers" know because I don't.
I'm just an independent working for the big goal. They surely know more than I and they are also great teachers. I have learned alot from them.
But one thing is for sure.....it is not possible and probably won't be for a while...if ever. ;)

You can't flash these drives, but you can extract the dvd key and spoof another drive. You can flash any drive besides the Lite-On after you get the spoof string and the dvd key.Just replace it with a different drive and you should be fine.

You can find it off this site http://www.devilsps3.centelia.net/liteon/ which should give you everything you need to know.
Thanks to: Geremia, C4eva, DeViLs360, Maximus, Podger, Tiros, Schtrom, TMF, Redline99. SoulHeaven, XboxHacker.net for the initial info.
@aj123 it depends on the drive you buy,but it depends if you get a Hitachi 47 drive they normally sell pretty cheap. If its a new flashable Benq drive it may cost around $60-$70 or less depends on where you look on the internet.

I wanted to know if any of you have used the 360xtractor for the new liteon drive. I'm new to flashing, but does this need to be for every 360?
