Hi, question!
I bought a presoldered D2Pro v2 but I'm not sure what they mean about the chip being region free tho. Do I need to solder anything or does the wiiclip have that covered?

By region free do they mean I can run games after patching them with wiibrickblocker or that I don't need to use it at all¿?

Hiya,

Region free means playing all regions i.e pal, ntsc etc. If you have the D2Pro just as it is with the clip then this will only allow you to use PAL backups.

For region free, there is some soldering to do. The only benefits really of region free is being able to have copies of games in the UK before they get released in the UK.. i.e newer titles normally get released in JAP or US (ntsc) before they are available in the UK.

If you dont want to solder, just stick to how it is, just means your stuck with PAL only which is generally UK.

If you have the D2Pro9 wire version 2 then all you should have to do to activate region free is to play a game that is the same region as your Wii system. This should activate region free automatically. No extra soldering wire is needed.

Also keep in mind that region free is not 100% compatible. There will be some games that can not be played.

You should also use Wii Brick Blocker on all out of region backups to avoid a region brick. The modchip will not protect you from this.
