Hi,

Been having many problems with my wii key, bought the wii a year ago, everything worked, all backup disks no problem, then for some reason the wii went back to original settings and firmware version, I updated it up to 3.3e and upgraded wii key to 1.9 and it seemed to work, but now it's gone back to not working again, using a variety of upgrade and config discs I can get the back up disks to load but they all eventually end with "disk cannot be read" at some point during the games loading.

Is it just that my dvd upgrades/configs aren't working? because they all seem to, I'm using DVD-R Maxell.

Any thoughts? should I just burn more DVD's or take another route?

cheers

Johnny,

The most important thing to remember is that the Wii drive is a little more finiky than the PS2.

You should be making your backups with either Ritek or Verbatim DVD-R (made in the Philippines). They are of the highest quality. Try a batch of those and get back to us.

Mod your gaming console today!

Hi,

Using Ritek dvds i made a 1.3 config, 1.9s and 1.9gbeta, first I used 1.9g and it installed fine (heard homers voice) but wouldn't see any backups, so then tried to set the region with 1.3 config, still no joy!

any ideas?

IMHO, GCOS disks are not a representative test of the quality of the disk because is the small amount of data vs. a full Wii disk.

1)If you can still read originals with no problem it's probably not hardware.

2)If you can read originals but not backups I vote for crappy media.

I have Wii sports and that works fine, no problem, I guess I should just keep burning discs till one works...

Hi, I had the same problem. 3.3U wiikey1.9 system worked fine for months and today suddenly stopped reading all my back up disks. Originals disk still works fine. The last thing i did was play "ghost squad" which I've played a few times before. so I'm kinda clueless what happened. Wondering if its a wiikey problem or software??? I got homebrew channel and wad installer installed. any comment would be greatly appreciated :) thanks
