Alright... Honestly... I've tried everything. I would really appreciate any help, that anyone can offer... Here's my situation...
I have a 1200mAh battery, which I'm sure I did correctly turn into a pandoras battery, I pulled the right pin, I'm sure of it. However, when I insert it into my PSP, it comes on automatically, and its just the green power light, no other lights come on. Perhaps I have the wrong battery? In either case, I have a 2200mAh that I can mod if the only problem.
So! I figured it was something wrong with my Magic Stick, which I've reformatted and tried installing Totalnewbieasyinstallerpandoramenu, i'm assuming everyone knows what that is. It kept getting an error at the end of the installation, which read:
target drive is 5
check partation sector
cannot open device \\.\physicaldrive5
can't read partation sector
And then it went to the screen with the credits for the installer... It didn't work... so after trying that many, many multiple times, I started using PSP Grader V005. It seems to work perfectly, but still yet, when I pop that stick and my pandoras battery into my PSP, the only thing that happens is the one, single, green power light comes on. I've tried pushing every button possible, with no result.
So, in conclusion, if anyone... has any advice... whatsoever! Please, post it lol
Thanks in advance everyone.

Another quick add, i'm not sure if this matters, but I got the Red, God Of War PSP, which if I remember correctly came with firmware version 3.80 and I upgraded it before I knew about Custom Firmware and the fact that there hasn't been any new custom firmware created for 4.05. I would also like to know, if anyone else can answer this, when the cfw for PSP FW 4.05 will be coming out? Thanks again.

i don't support hard-modding batteries at all. you claim to "KNOW" you did it right... i question that. you probably did it wrong which is why it's not working.
google "datel service mode tool" it will turn your regular battery into pandora and back again. with the press of 1 button no hardware modifications.

Yes, but in actuality, i've done extensive research and found out one very important key in all of this which makes absolutely no sense... whatsoever... at all.
That being:
Custom firmware is required in order to downgrade.
Earlier version of Official Firmware is required to run custom firmware.
If noone else sees a problem with that... then unfortunately, you're retarded.

the reason you may have seen that in a tutorial somewhere is because they want to use the CFW PSP to make the pandora battery. this used to be a very popular thing with Phat PSP's where you could put a normal battery in and using a pandora battery maker convert it into a pandora battery and back again.
if you have a *WORKING* pandora battery already you definitely don't need a CFW psp to downgrade. i bought my PSP slim from amazon, i had no access to ANY other PSP. I bought a datel service mode tool and downgraded my OFW no problem.

Well then, is there anyway, at all, that you can assure me (assuming I DO pull the right pin on the battery) that hardmodding a 2200mAh PSP-280 phat battery pack, rather than a 1200mAh PSP-S110, will, without a doubt, boot service mode, and I will be able to interact with my memory stick?

I just read that Pandora-proof batteries have been out and that if it was made in Japan it won't work. Mine was and I scored it (and my slim psp) a month before FFT came out. Is there still no way around it and people are just finding old ones, or is it possible at this point? I'm getting interested rather late..
I like the sound of that service mode tool but not if it isn't going to get the job done unless I really look for a battery that would work with it. And at that point I might as well just try and find a pandora's battery somewhere. Oh man what a headache. Forgive the noobness.
