Has anyone figued out how to backup Alone in the Dark yet? no one has posted anything on the only other two threads about the issue for a while.

I have a kreon drive and have also tried xbc 2.4, 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8 ...nothing. can you give more details as to how you accomplished this?

give it a try with schtrom. I was able to rip it with my samsung drive using schtrom and it works great

no dice, and to make sure schtrom was working on my pc i ripped another game with it, but Alone in the Dark still no workie.

what happens exactly which prevents you from ripping the game? Is there an error message, does it just randomly quit? Give us the message for both of the programs (schtrom and xbc). Also, is this the only game you have which you have not been able to backup? How is the game itself, any scratches or anything? Do you know anyone else who also has the game which you could see if there is something wrong with your copy?

Ripping stops at 3.39% every time to process security sector. Stops for about 5 mins. Fail...retry...fail...retry...unable to process security sector. Schtrom: 3%...unable to extract ss.bin. this is the only game ive had a problem with. tw09 wouldnt work with xbc but i got it working with schtrom. game is perfect, no scratches. my friends are all broke asses who cant afford games so no.

Is your computer all the way up to date? I've had this problem happen to me each time a new update comes up, but once I update it, it is able to extract the ss.bin file

I did it successfully. It took awhile to get working though. I used xbc 2.4 and ripped alone in the dark at 2x or 4x I cant remember, but it worked.

sorry for being kind of a newb, but what do you mean all the way up to date? what new update? i have the latest version of xbc and schtrom. im not sure if i have the latest kreon fw though. any idea how id find out?

Well first off, are you using the most recent copies of either XBC or Schtrom, and second, is windows as up to date as possible. As odd as it sounds, I have errors everytime there is an update for windows. But once I update windows with the latest patches, it fixes itself. A lot of the guys on here will also tell you to make sure your comp. is up to date.

if u have the 1.0 kreon firmware and the latest XBC it should rip fine unless ur trying to use a backup to rip. if so. use clone cd to copy it
